The 88th session came with the return of normalcy in Texas.
With COVID-19 restrictions lifted, Texans from across the lone star state flocked to the Capitol to advocate for the issues they care most about. For us at Minaret Foundation, our issue areas were the same: child welfare, food insecurity, and religious liberty.
We had seven bills on our slate; you can find a complete list below. We had a robust coalition for each of our bills to help support the effort from the drafting process to the Governor’s desk. At the end of the 88th session, we were excited to see five of our seven initiatives pass the Texas House and Senate and be sent to Governor Abbott’s desk!
