Join us on Sunday, December 13th as we hold our second Muslim Women’s Forum with our guest Rushan Abbas! Although we’re meeting virtually, we’ll break into smaller virtual rooms to have intimate conversations and exchange life experiences.
Our speaker Rushan Abbas has been a changemaker in many fields related to freeing the Uyghur people. She has worked with the Department of Defense, Department of Justice, the State Department, and other civic and community organizations to advocate on behalf of the Uyghur people. Spurred by the kidnapping and detention of her sister by the Chinese Government, Rushan has used her voice to create change at the highest levels of government and provide hope to the Uyghur community around the world.
As a woman, she has often found herself in rooms of power amongst only men. In the realm of international affairs specifically, as it relates to oppression and human rights Rushan has continuously led the way to advance the conversation.
