The Gun Safety Public Policy (GSPP) Committee is a dedicated group made up of people of faith that convenes virtually once a month to address the crucial issue of firearm safety. Our committee’s primary focus is to engage in thoughtful discussions regarding gun safety public policy and the development of future legislation to protect children.

The GSPP Committee aims to promote public safety by creating balanced policies that strike a harmonious chord between safeguarding individual liberties and protecting the collective welfare of the community. Their efforts reflect a commitment to preserving life, preventing tragedies, and fostering a culture of responsible gun ownership and usage. The committee’s discussions are conducted with an awareness of the complex and sensitive nature of the gun safety debate, fostering an inclusive and respectful environment to allow for diverse perspectives to be considered.

Qualifications for the Gun Safety Public Policy (GSPP) Committee:

  1. Understanding or willingness to understand firearm safety and regulation: Committee members should have a strong understanding or willingness to understand policies that prioritize public safety.
  2. Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Policy Development: It is important for committee members to be familiar with or willing to learn about the policy development process.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration skills are helpful for committee members to actively participate in discussions, share their perspectives, and contribute constructively to the committee’s work.
  4. Ethical Conduct and Confidentiality: Committee members should adhere to high ethical standards.
